How do I keep latex paint from peeling?

I painted my daughters room and it started peeling, any way to paint and keep it from peeling? How do I keep latex paint from peeling?
yes you can keep the latex paint from peeling. the key is in the prep. If you are painting over an old oil based paint you should use a good primer sealer first, ask your local paint store for a BONDING PRIMER. after this you should be o k, at the very least you need to make sure that the surface to be painted is clean and dry hair spray and household cleaners may have left residue that needs to be removed before painting. If you use the BONDING PRIMER., you can have it tinted to the same coler as the finish paint, this will make the final coat cover easier and betterHow do I keep latex paint from peeling?
No paint job will look good if you don't spend time preparing the surface underneath. If your house has a smoker, you will have to scrub the walls with tsp solution and possibly prime it depending on the colour going on the wall. If its a darker colour on top of lighter colour you may be able to get away with couple coats, but if its vice versa, you must prime or the colour will bleed through. Also check to see if your previous paint is oil based, because latex will not bond properly to oil based paints.
Try a cleanser call TSP you can get it at Home Depot or any paint store. Make sure you use rubber gloves when using it. Wash down your walls/idem then let dry and paint. If you are painting over a enamel you may have to strip it first. You can use a sponge mop to do walls and ceiling, if washing ceiling use safety goggles.
If you did not put primer on the wall prior to painting and the wall had high gloss or semi-gloss paint on it then the paint is going to peel. You have to prime the wall so it will accept the paint.

Some paints have built in primer but the best method is to prime and then paint.
