hello thats your clear coat coming off not a hole lot you cand to about it other than taking it to a body shop99 alero some kinda coating over the paint is peeling..how can i protect it and what should i do?
you can go to a dealer or auto store get your color matched with your cars paint . paint over it then wait till dry then get a clear coat paint to put over the new dry paint you just put on your car . PS this wont look like a pro job but will cover up the ugly
It is the clear coat that is peeling, and if its already peeling your best bet would be to have it repainted.
Ouch. I hate paint problems. You could get it repainted but in the end, the new paint job may be worse! The best advice I can give you is just wash it every week, especially now with the salt on the roads.
i own a body shop and its your clear coming off. a number of things could have caused this whether it was cheap clear coat, wasn't mixed properly, temperature during spraying, the list goes on. what i recommend is just going to a good body shop, not macco, and having them fix it. do not wash the problem areas or wax them, this will cause more damage. washing it a lot will cause your paint to oxidize and turn chalky and flake off eventually. depending on how bad it is they will either repaint the whole outside of your car or sand down the problem areas and over a few inches and reclear it and blend into your existing paint
