How do you stop paint from peeling on outside window ledge tiles?

Prepare the surface properly and don't paint if it's very hot or humid. The paint will just peel off again. Wait for a dry day with a temperature below 80 degrees. How do you stop paint from peeling on outside window ledge tiles?
Paint is being ';thrown-off'; by the lime in the cement. If it is your intention to paint on top of any concrete it is necessary to seal the cement surface with special sealer. It has the appearance of varnish and generally one coat is applied before painting in the normal way. A paint department should know what product to use.

In UK I think SANDTEX do a sealer. How do you stop paint from peeling on outside window ledge tiles?
make sure you rub down windows and then clean with white spirit then use a Good primer then what till it dries then use a very good close paint
The first step is to eliminate the source of moisture. Carefully inspect the outside of the house, paying special attention to window and trim areas and other joints. Remove loose or cracked caulking and repair with a quality product.

If the moisture is rising from the ground through the masonry you should waterproof the foundation. If wood is touching the ground, remove that portion of the wood. Siding should come down no further than 6'; above the ground.

Check the roof for signs of leakage and clean out gutters and down spouts. If you suspect vegetation is a cause of peeling, cut back away from the wood.

Remove all loose paint with a scraper or wire brush, down to the bare wood if necessary. Sand rough surfaces. Seal all bare wood with a primer and allow it to dry one or two days before applying the topcoat. We recommend using oil solid stain or acrylic latex as a finish coat if peeling is a real problem because these products breath better than glossy oil paints.
strip off the paint and leave it bear, nice to look simplistic
sand it down first
strip it off and use ''RONSEAL'S QUICK DRYING WOODSTAIN''

IT DOES EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN! ;-)
remove all old paint rub down wood , undercoat rub down then gloss rub down gloss and thats it
use exterior tile paint and coat with clear varnish
scrape the pain toff and seal it and give it two new coats of out door paint
paint them everyday
you can a) dont bother painting and go onatural

b) prepare well

c) go for an exterior to match
Good preperation is the key to a good long lasting finish.Sand off all the old flaking paint with a medium grade of sand paper.Use primer to seal the surface, then 1 coat of undercoat(not to thick).Allow to dry then give a very light sand with fine sand paper to lose any left over knobbly bits, then 2 coats of gloss(again not to thick, use a drop of white spirit to thin the paint if this is the case).Allow to dry and hey presto, one nice an shiney ledge that should last 5 yr or more....Also as said in above answer,Never paint in very hot sunshine as it doesnt help...
You need to use a seperate enamel paint for metal, in the same colour as the exterior wall. You cannot use wall paint. You will need to clean the metal and apply a rust proof primer (we used red-alkaline for our scaffolding), then paint over.
when your paint has dried give it a coat of varnish sand it down when dry and give it a second coat! it will even stop chipping
be sure to do this job when the weather is dry.

prepare the tiles by stripping off, ALL the old paint

Rub down (sand ) well

Use a good undercoat .

Use good quality ';outdoor '; paint, for the top coat .

Finally ,you can seal this top coat,

with a coat of ( outdoor quality) lacquer.

That should fix it !

clean the serfice really well, use high quality primer (helps the paint stick in the first place) then paint on your colors
All in the preperation... bad prep, bad job
it doesn't matter how much you prepare before painting it will peel after about 4 years so just scrape off and repaint
