What is a method for peeling emblems off a vehicle yourself, is it harmful to the paint to us a heat gun?

i have a chevrolet silverado and am looking to take the emblems off with a heat gun and wondering if this is the right methodWhat is a method for peeling emblems off a vehicle yourself, is it harmful to the paint to us a heat gun?
Hold on there, cowboy! A heat gun can blister your paint if you're not careful with it. You might want to just use a hair dryer if you want to try the heat method, as it is much less likely to do damage. You can use a plastic knife to pull the emblem off and then just peel off the remaining glue with your fingers. A razor blade will work too, but you have to be careful you don't nick the paint or cut yourself. Whichever method you chose, just take it slow and easy. If you rush it, you will mess something up. a heat gun is the right tool , do not let the gun stay in one place for a long time keep moving back and forth a little at a time we use a razor blades if you do keep the razor strait and flat as you can let the heat do the work. watch you hand by the heat gun. if you do leave the gun in one place you will blister the paint right off the car....worked in auto body
They generally bake the paint after they apply it. Heat isn't going to hurt it any.

A piece of fish line helps also, use it like floss to get behind the emblem
