Cracked, peeling (eggshell)paint, several layers, what's the best way to get rid of it please?

Would an electric sander help? I know I should've used special radiator paint..Cracked,peeling (eggshell)paint, several layers, what's the best way to get rid of it please?
Remove the entire radiator, then take it outside and use a pressure washer on it. All the paint will come off in a matter of seconds.Cracked, peeling (eggshell)paint, several layers, what's the best way to get rid of it please?
use paint stripper then sand it
I presume you used the water based paint for your radiator,or painted over previous water based paint thats already on your rad.

You should never use waterbase on radiators, I have always used oilbase paint on rads and have never had any trouble.

It will be difficult to get off, you could buy some brush cleaner, that would be suitable for water or oilbase paint, failing that sand it back, or buy a new rad.

sorry I cant give you any more advice.
Using a sander makes things dusty. I recommend either a heat gun (which successfully removed about 10 layers of paint spanning approx. 50 years from my house) or that paint stripper gel which you paint on, leave for a bit and then scrape off. Warning though, the latter stinks and will burn your skin if you don't cover up well.
it might be more expensive short term but buy new radiators - get ones that are energy efficient might be time to replace you boiler as well if it isnt a combi
Seems you've had plenty of advice on paint strippers or sanders...how about a nice radiator cover...not very expensive, quick to fix on? Good luck!
There are paint removers that soften the paint so it's easily scraped off, and there are electrically heated scrapers that do it with heat.

Sanding would be a last choice. Too much dust, easy to breath in even with filters.

Ships are done with 60,000 lbs/sq in. water jets.
The heat gun is the safest way - I did the same thing with my radiators - probably 12 coats of paint on them - I was concerned about lead paint and whatever else was under there, so I just scraped what was peeling sanded slightly and painted over it again - not with radiator paint either, just regular.
