97 Mazda Astina Spoiler. Paint peeling. How much$$ to fix and where?

I have a red Mazda Astina 97 and at first I noticed some bubbles underneath the clear film?? on my spoiler which opened and exposed the paint underneath and now its kinda rusting. What do I do? Go to a panel beater? What would they need to do and how much would it cost roughly in the melbourne, Oz area. Thanks97 Mazda Astina Spoiler. Paint peeling. How much$$ to fix and where?
It needs to be stripped right back because the paint on there now is obviously unstable.

It would then need to be primed with the correct primer depending on what material the spoiler is made from (ABS plastic, vinyl, fibre glass or metal) and what type of finishing paint that you intend to use (twin pack, acrylic, cellulose, enamel or water based). Then it would need to cure before installing the finish coats.

Finally it would need rubbing down with fine abrasive paper between coats and finishing with a clear high gloss coat.

Red is the most expensive colour and to refinish your spoiler is very labour intensive. I would imagine that the reason the spoiler has blistered is because it wasn't properly primed or prepared in the 1st place. I would say about AU$1000 - 1200 to fix.

Any reputable paint shop would do this. Get some estimates, contact the RACV for some business names and find out what sort of warranty you would get and how long they need the car for.

PS It could also be blistering because your car is a '97 model and the technology of adhering a paint to plastic was not very good then. They can make it stick to virtually any surface now.
